Where does your mind go when you lose it?

We’ve all heard something like, “I am losing my mind!” but have you ever thought about where you mind goes when you lose it?

When you temporarily lose your car keys, they go someplace, for example, the ice cube tray. [I don’t want to know. -ed] But when “lost” they are still somewhere so they can be subsequently “found” again or “un-lost.”

But maybe it is a physical thing. So in a more ethereal vein, when you “lose” a bet there is a corresponding “winner” so you could say that your loss is someone else’s gain, things are in balance, and all is right in the world.

But, back to your mind. When you lose your mind, no one has found it, so it is not a physical lost/found thing. When you lose your mind, no one has gained it, so it is not a logical lost/won thing. So, where does your mind go.

[Have you considered it might just be a figure of speech? Sheesh! -ed]

Ooops. I lost track of time. Gotta run and look for my marbles.
