There is an app called What3Words. You can get it from the Apple App store here. What it does is gives you a list of three words which uniquely identify your place on the planet. The what3words website says that the words will direct you to a specific three meter square on the earth.

So, if you move three meters in any direction, you are guaranteed to get a different set of three words, and it is likely that moving two and an eighth meters in any direction will get you a new set of words. (I figured if you are exactly in the center of a square and you move toward one of the corners, you need to traverse one-half of the the hypotenuse of a right triangle with sides of 3m, 3m, and 1/2*sqrt(18)m or roughly 2.122m or even more roughly 2 1/8m. In case you wondered about my math 🙂 )

What is the reference to the title of this post? It is an old joke. What do you get when you cross a cantaloupe, Lassie the dog, and one of the Spice Girls? Give up? A melon collie Baby.

Thank you very much. I’ll be here all week. Try the veal and don’t forget to tip the wait staff.

If you want to amaze your friends, by the way, My Melancholy Baby was first sung publicly by William Frawley. You may remember him as “Fred Mertz” in the I Love Lucy TV show.
