Continuing my series of Mac apps that I can’t live without and those that I can, let me present the #3 Mac app that I can live without: Apple Maps.
This is Apple Maps on the Mac, not on the iPhone. On the iPhone, Maps is adequate. On the Mac, it is less good than mapquest’s or google’s maps. For getting from point A to point B, Maps if fine. For figuring out directions between two points, neither of which is where I am, it falls down. It seems to think that wherever I am is where I want to be mapping, and that is just not true. To give Maps its due, it has been getting better, but I can still live without the Mac version.
