Now that the CodeNameGenerator has more than 100,000 combinations, I figured I would post a link to it in the App Store and put up a CodeNameGenerator Demo.

The latest version of AtAGlance is out in the AppStore. It adds in a second source for stock market data. The first source worked flawlessly for the month leading up to release and then seems to have degraded, so this makes it better. If you bought version 1.0.0, thanks, and you should update to 1.0.1. Just for fun, the video below shows a 10 minute view of what the app looks like when the market is open.

AtAGlance is available in the App Store here.

It shows a graphical display of the current values of the components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. It color-codes them based on their percentage change for the day or as of closing. You should get it now so you can see the market tomorrow!

An updated WhenIsEaster is coming out soon!

I uploaded it tonight, and it usually takes Apple a few days to review and approve it. It adds the ability to create a calendar event to remind you when Easter occurs. That’s it. It looks like this in English, Spanish, French, and German. Enjoy!

Gogo year in review

Today marks the end of my year of free Gogo wireless. I tweeted about Gogo in December of 2010 and was the lucky winner! I used Gogo a total of 18 times this last year. I had more flights than that, of course, so that means that Gogo was available on about a quarter of the flights I took. It was a good year and I landed more caught up than I would have been otherwise. It was a no-brainer to use Gogo when it was free, even on short flights. I think the sweet spot for me is the longer-haul flights, and so Gogo hasn’t seen the last of me!

Thanks again Gogo, I enjoyed the run!

Coming soon to the Apple App Store, the aptly-name WhenIsThanksgiving. WhenIsThanksgiving determines on what day Thanksgiving falls in the U.S. in a given year. It builds on the success of WhenIsEaster and my hope is that it will push the total number of application downloads from All About Me Software to over 100! Stay tuned and watch for it late this week in the App Store. It will be free, and worth at least twice that!

III Forks in Chicago

III Forks in Chicago is open and it is worth eating there! It is on the Lakeshore East Park, North of Millennium Park, on E. Benton Place. If the cab driver doesn’t know how to get there, tell him/her Randolph to Field. If you are walking, it is the level below the new Mariano’s supermarket.

The filet was one of the best I have had. My choices for “rare” were “red, cold center” or “red, warm center.” I chose the latter, and that is the way it came! Very impressive for being a table of seven since I expect the timing on that is fairly tight. The prices are like any Chicago steakhouse, but I did see a french dip sandwich and a burger that would be appropriate for any time, not a “big steak dinner.”
